The following are volunteer opportunities available...

Daily Chores:
We are very thankful for our volunteers who complete daily chores, as our horses receive daily care entirely by our
volunteer network. After completing Stall Mucking 101 or the 8-part volunteer training class, volunteers are eligible
to complete daily chores. Volunteers may sign up to work as often or as infrequently as fits their schedules. Daily
chores are divided into morning and afternoon/evening time slots. Morning chores should be started anytime
between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Afternoon chores can begin anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. These chores and
times are subject to change depending on the seasonal needs of the horses. Chores include feed, water, hay,
mucking stalls, dumping manure, adding shavings, raking aisle, and turning horses out (weather permitting, only by
qualified volunteers who have completed 8-week volunteer training program.)

Greeter
Greeters will welcome visitors to the ranch, make sure releases are signed and answer questions about the ranch.

Ground Work:
After our volunteers have completed the 8-week volunteer training program, they are eligible to work on ground work
with our horses. We use natural horsemanship methods.

Builders*Mechanics*Trade Professionals
As we continue with expansion and improvements at the ranch, those skilled in construction, mechanic
maintenance, electrical and plumbing are needed. Like any barn, we have frequent repairs that need to be made.
We are also building a lounge for our visitors to gather, as well as a grain room. This is a great opportunity for
apprentice work with proper supervision by a licensed trade professional.

Fundraiser * Grant Writer
Changing Leads Equine Rescue is funded solely by donations. The viability of the ranch and our ability to rescue
horses and offer "people" programs is dependent upon adequate funding. Your help in planning fundraising events or
helping to write grants is priceless. The fundraising volunteer must be organized, a visionary and great with rounding
up the troops to help with projects and events. Grant writing experience would be helpful in researching and
applying for grants.

Communicators
Share our vision for the ranch with the community by helping with newsletters, brochures and speaker's bureaus.
Tasks may include creating the newsletter, writing articles, creating brochures and flyers, speaking engagements,
creating power point presentations, videos and other methods for sharing information about the ranch.

Prayer and Prayer Healing Team
As a Christian outreach ministry, we believe in the power of prayer for our ranch, volunteers, visitors and the healing
of our horses. As a member of the prayer team, you will receive emails from us sharing our needs for prayer. As
part of the prayer healing team, you will join other volunteers in praying over our horses for healing. If you want to a
part of our prayer team email Sandy Weedman at weedmansandy@yahoo.com. Please indicate in your email if
you want to be on the prayer team for prayer regarding the ranch, the healing prayer team to pray and lay hands on
our rescue horses or both.

Educators
It is important to us that our regular visitors to Changing Leads Equine Rescue not only enjoy the interaction with
our rescue horse, but also "learn" about the horses, including basic horse care (hoof, grooming, nutrition, stall
care), natural horsemanship training, horse safety, tack (care, selection, purpose), equine first aid, etc. As a
volunteer educator, you would provide a short educational session on an equine topic for our volunteers and visitors.
Training would be required.

Trainer * Instructor
As a trainer or instructor volunteer, experience and knowledge is required. As a trainer, you will be handling horses
that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned. As an instructor, you will often be working with visitors that
have little or no horse experience.
